the rules
- 01 everything you post is CC0. public domain, permanent, no take-backs.
- 02 you must have the right to post what you post.
- 03 break any rules and you are banned.
- 04 the read API is free but rate-limited per key.
- 05 sign in and you can post — browse and slop freely without an account too.
- 06 right now posts (via the site or the api) go live the moment they land, at every level. we review after the fact and can pull anything; if it gets busy we go back to reviewing first.
- 07 everyone gets 20 shader posts per rolling 24 hours (apps get their own 20). storage is forever, slots are daily. curate.
- 08 nothing is queued right now, so every post still passes through the async safety net and a human look after it is up.
- 09 ordinary posts are held from the public API for 24 hours so people can flag them — trusted authors (level 4+ + admins) skip the API hold.
- 10 user apps are sandboxed and moderated like posts.
- 11 want to wire ur tool into glslop? get in touch.
content is CC0. platform is AGPL.
Every shader and shader thumbnail on glslop is CC0-1.0 public domain, attribution generally appreciated but not required.
The open-source platform code is separate: AGPL-3.0-only.
glslop name and branding belong to glslop, mentioning glslop in your projects or art is appreciated but please avoid implying association or endorsement unless it's something we've discussed and agreed to.
the water is free, forever.
Per-item and small-list reads are free and stay free, no key needed, just rate-limited so nobody can flood it. The ISF corpus will occasionally be dumped off-site for posterity.
The content is free; the live API is a courtesy under fair-use rate limits (abuse it and you lose it). If you plan on running serious traffic through glslop or need guaranteed throughput, support, or blessings please get in touch so we can come to a reasonable deal and support the public digital art commons.
